I decided to check out the earth sciences exhibit. The geological information was pretty simplified but for a 20 year old exhibit the dioramas still looked good.
This is the Cretaceous diorama it and the other where fairly well done. Although the information around the T. Rex skull in the main lobby mentioned that they now felt that the environment was not correct. The picture is not the best either but you can still make out some detail at full resolution.
For the archaeologist and are interest (for some of us) in osteological material I decided the pathological Triceratops skull would also make a good picture. Unfortunately it did not, not at this angle anyways. The frill (large bone projection that would protect the neck) shows extensive remodelling and the left side is missing a big chunk. The plaque suggests that it may of been caused during mating rituals possible between males fighting to impress/win a mate.
I did not get to look at to much of the Native American material but it looked substantial and should make for a good trip in the future.

p.s. the good thing about blogs is you can fix the mistakes and no one's the wiser. Like having a time machine.
